ABOUT OUR CHURCH

One Life Church began in August 2006 with 13 people meeting in the Valenzano Family’s Living Room. In January of 2007, One Life launched public services at the Fundamentals Daycare on Walker South Road. Each Sunday involved moving and setting-up equipment to have our Worship Experience.

By October of 2007, we moved into the old St. William Catholic Church in Port Vincent. Because of the impending demolishment of the St. William building in the Winter of 2012, One Life once again began a search for the place God would send us next. On February 12, 2012, One Life found a new home in the old Sciviques’ Restaurant on the Amite River. The following 4 1/2 years represented growth in our church and ministries.  Then, in 2016 a few weeks after launching multiple services, we experienced 2 major flooding events culminating in the Great Flood of 2016. This event lead to One Life once again sojourning to French Settlement High School's gym.  5 months later we landed at the chapel of Hebron Baptist Church.

Over this time of change and struggle, God has been faithful to keep His committed followers focused on His mission. On Sunday, October 20, 2019 we made a historic vote to finally purchase our very own property and building.  Then on November 15, we closed on this property and had our first gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday November 24. We celebrated our first worship service on Sunday, December 1. It continues to be our hope to see Ascension and Livingston Parishes changed by the power of God through his son Jesus Christ.

THE BIBLE: God Wrote a Book

About our Beliefs

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
